4 chicken breasts (or boneless thighs, skin removed)
2 tbsp Aleppo pepper
2 tbsp pomegranate molasses
2–3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil (or half olive oil, half argan oil)
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
Juice of 1/2 lemon
Pinch of sea salt
Pinch of sumac (optional, for garnish)
👨‍🍳 Directions
Prepare the marinade:
Mix Aleppo pepper, pomegranate molasses, garlic, cumin, lemon juice, salt, and olive oil in a bowl.
Add the chicken and coat well.
Marinate for at least 30 minutes (2–3 hours in the fridge is ideal).Cook the chicken:
Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat.
Cook the chicken for 5–7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
Sprinkle extra Aleppo pepper on top in the last minute of cooking.
Serve with:
Cucumber yogurt salad with a dash of sumac
Steamed rice with a drizzle of olive oil and thyme
Or fresh salad and whole-grain bread
